Coral Gables Museum Benefit Auction, June 2024

I have two works up in the auction benefiting the Coral Gables Museum; it’s currently online as a silent auction for the next few days, after which it will culminate in a live auction on June 30 at 3 PM. Each work starts at $700 for the opening bid; the works are oil and graphite on paper, and are 12″ x 9″ inches. The museum is supporting artists while being supported by artists, and 50% of the cost of the work will be returned to me, so you can support both me and the museum at the same time.

Left: “Behind the Ixora”, Kathleen Hudspeth, 2023. Right: “Inundation, then the Sun”, 2023. Both works are oil and graphite on paper, 12″ x 9″.

Neither of these works have been posted online until now. They are both from 2023, from my new body of paintings which is based in imagination, bodily recollection, and landscape. They are both derived from recollections of moments while I was growing up in what is now called the “High Pines” area, but which for us at the time was always “unincorporated Miami-Dade” (after the county name-change, of course).

You can find the museum’s auction site here, with many other worthy artists’ works besides my own, as well as the other sort items you can find in benefit auctions: https://events.handbid.com/…/for-a-summer-of-art…/items
